Dr. Martens is one of the world's most recognisable footwear brands, built around the distinctive air-cushioned sole, yellow welt stitching, and two-tone grooved edge that have defined the boot since its British launch in 1960. Originally worn as a practical work boot, Dr. Martens was adopted by successive waves of youth subculture — skinheads, punks, goths, grunge — before becoming a mainstream fashion staple that has outlasted every trend that embraced it.
